Lindie_Lou_Thats_Who

I'm sitting here at 48 years of age and my life is just starting.

My surgery date is set for April 17th 2012, which will most likely be celebrated as my 'new' birthday.

Currently I'm tipping the scales at 345 lbs, my blood pressure is high and being maintained with medication....the first ever medical problem I've had in my life, along with the first prescription ever. Its been about a month since my surgeon sent me to see the internist, who in turn, sent me for a sleep study and now I use a CPAP machine to sleep at night. I've been told that with the surgery both these medical conditions can possibly improve or hopefully be corrected....let's hope so because I'm not really liking either one. I've been very blessed healthwise considering how long I've been obese. I was always a skinny little kid and a picky eater, which worried my Italian family growing up. Things started to change when I became a teen and the weight started creeping on, by the end of high school I weighed around 200lbs.
Living in this body never held me back much (or so I thought) til I started getting older and slower and generally not feeling well. Then of course, the threat of more health problems and more medications, helped me come to the realization that I need to get the weight off.
