As a young child, I was skinny. I had the nick name of skinny minnie. I was very active in sports and even played on Varsity soccer in high school. I even remember a time when I was encouraged to "carb load" before the games. Ahhhh. The memories.

After college, I had my first child and was still maintaining the weight well. Then came number 2, from there it was all down hill. The stress of family and a sedentary job, I packed on the pounds. Over the course of 4 years, I gained 50 pounds. Every time I tried to diet and exercise, I always got side tracked, I'd lose 5-10 pounds and then I'd gain 20. As I reached 220 pounds, I started to have bad headaches, I was dizzy and I'd fall. I was losing my vision - basically because I was over weight. I had swelling in my brain.

I was able to do the lap band surgery and all is well. I'm 2 months post op and have lost 37 pounds. (40% of my excess weight)
