Todd McCarty

"He's one of the best in his field. When he did a friend's surgery, he got called into an emergency and didn't come out to talk with us. He also didn't send someone out to tell us he had gotten called away to an emergency. This caused a lot of stress for her friends and family. He later explained to my friend that this never happened before. After reading other reviews on this website, I decided not to change surgeons. I wanted someone with an Oncology background and he fits the bill. His staff is amazing. They are courteous and prompt in returning calls. He's so popular that he seemed a bit rushed for time. He did answer the questions I had for him. Perhaps he didn't take as much time because I had already done my homework on WLS. Baylor has a well-structured program. This includes nutrition and psychological classes prior to surgery as well as support groups post op. There is also an online support group. As far as surgical competence, he's one of the best. He said he quit counting after 1,000 surgeries. I work with a number of people whom he operated on and they are all pleased. I will get back to you with bedside manner post op. "
