" I greatly appreciate Dr. Sudderth and Detra McCarty ( his coordinator).
Dr. Sudderth meets with you one time before your surgery date and he goes over every question you have and tells you thoroughly all the good thing about having surgery and also all the risks. He gets to the point and takes plenty of time to explain everything about the surgery.
Theres nothing I dislike about Dr.Sudderth other than you only meet once with him prior to him doing your surgery(the consultation).
After care was very much emphasized!! This is a lifetime change and he stresses that. Its like a rebirth- starting over.
We have a WLS support group meeting once a month and can contact his nurse anytime we may need to.
I would rate Dr. Sudderth pretty highly .
I would not rate River region Hospital too high, but the care in ICU was wonderful - Robby Potts was my nurse in there and hes wonderful!!
The coordinator -DETRA MCCARTY HAS BEEN RELIEVED OF HER JOB AND THATS A BIG MISTAKE - SHE WAS THE BEST THING THE PROGRAM AT RIVER REGION HAD GOING FOR THEM. DETRA WAS THERE FOR ME ANYTIME AND WAS SO HELPFUL. I WOULD NOT OF HAD MY SURGERY IF IT WASNT FOR HER . 9/8/04 AT MY 6 MONTH CHECK UP, I THINK DR. SUDDERTH WAS MORE EXCITED THAN ME. HES WONDERFUL AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE SOMEONE SPECIAL."
