Okay so I still feel like a failure where the weightloss is concerned. I totally need to go see Dr. Barnes but I am WAY embarrassed by my lack of progress. I am sure he was expecting it when I announced that I was pregnant just 4 months after my surgery. She was worth it though. She is amazing. I am just so thankful everyday that we are both healthy. Since my last blog posting lots and lots of things have happened in my life. We relocated from MS to San Diego, CA. It is so pretty here. Plus we had a bouncing baby boy named Braxton. He is so sweet and so handsome. Really a joy. I really want to get back on track with getting my weight under control. I want to be there for my sweet babies. Being an "older" mommy is bad enough...being old, fat mom is even worse. I want to be healthy for myself and for my family. I realize no one reads these blogs but hey it is therapeautic for me. I know that is not entirely the case but that is the way that it feels. I am back on the road to weight loss. I am starting the 5 day pouch test today! YAY! I am gonna get back on track. I WILL NOT fail at this! I am too young to let this happen!

Okay so here I am a year out...I am down 100 pounds and I am expecting my 3rd little girl at the end of August. We are all so excited here! Sorry that it has been so long since I updated my profile...I have been so lazy since being preggy! hehehe...:o)

I can not believe that it has been 4 months since my surgery! I have lost 82 pounds and everything is going great so far!

I am so bummed to be losing my old Barbie profile but since I have no idea how to keep all the old graphics and stuff...I will just have to come up with a new one with the new OH system. It is not nearly as nice as my other one that the beautiful Apple Pie made me but I hope you all like it!!!

May  2006: Just in the beginning the process for WLS. I am going to try to get up the nerve to go talk to my Primary Care Manager about the surgery! I just hope that he does not shoot me down.

June 2006:  Well I talked to my PCM, she was horrible about it. She has very strong negatives opinions about the surgery. She is also very ill informed about the procedure. She ordered a pelvic ultrasound and a thyroid ultrasound(because I had an elevated TSH level).

July 2006: Well, my thyroid ultrasound was abnormal so I have to see an ENT soon. I am very scared about it. I also have a consult with a surgeon for WLS. My doc put in the consult after I begged but not without saying that they would turn me down. But they approved the consult!  YAY! I will keep you updated on how it all goes!!!

July 20, 2006: I went to the ENT and he said everything was ok. He just wants me to see an Endocrinologist later to adjust and monitor my thyroid levels. So yay!!! I am on to the next step for WLS! 

July 24, 2006: I met with the pychologist this morning and she said it went well.  She said she would send Dr. Barnes the results later on that day. In the afternoon, I went to the seminar and then to my doctor's appointment. Both of the doctors were super nice. Even my husband liked them and he never likes my doctors. They scheduled me for an EGD this Friday and surgery on Aug. 1st pending insurance approval. I am so excited. I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with the insurance approval!

July 28, 2006: My EGD went great. I thought I was going to be really knocked out after but I woke up easily and stayed awake! I am on my way August 1st!!!! Oh yeah...insurance was so easy! I got approval within 3 days!

August 1, 2006: Surgery day!! I was so nervous but I was also certain that i would do ok. I had lots of people praying for me and my family was there with me. My surgery took over 4 hours because of a bleeding problem that I had. Dr. Barnes said everytime he touched me I would bleed. He was great and he really took care of me. THANKS DR. BARNES!!!

August 14, 2006: I had an appointment with Dr. Barnes for my 2 week check up. It went great. I have lost 32 pounds. I can hardly believe it. The drive back and forth to Shreveport is killing me but it is worth it to have Dr. Jim and Dr. Stephanie Barnes on my side! Oh yeah and the greatest part is I do not have to be on clear liquids anymore! I get to have oatmeal and instant potatoes, etc. I am so excited!

October 5, 2006: 62 pounds down BABY! YEAH! I am right at 300 pounds...Soon it will be goodbye 300's and hello 200's!!! Woo Hoo!
