I have lost 63lbs. I have 27lbs to go. I am 4/mo post op. My weight loss has slowed down to about 1-2 lbs a week.  I am working out at the gym to start toning. I am so happy with the sleeve. I sure recommend it.

53 lbs gone, 37 to go.

The sleeve has been the best thing I ever did. I am so glad I chose it over the other options even though insurance wouldn't cover it since it is too new of a procedure. But I believe it was definitely the best for me.

Not much Happen

Apr 01, 2008

I am still on a losing streak. I doing well with eating. I can now eat any foods but still only about 4oz at one time. I eat 4 times a day. I get 60-80g of protien a day.

I absolutely LOVE the Sleeve. I am so glad I chose it over the other options.

I am 50 lbs away from my goal.  Woo Hoo!!!

I am doing well. However, I am not back to 100%. It is mainly because of my fibromyalgia (FM). The surgery went well. My stomach has healed. FM responds to any trauma in the body and for me it is being relentless. It drains me of my energy and the pain has settled in my back.  For those that suffer from FM, I would suggest a treatment called "Bowen Works". If I didn't go to that, I would not even be this far along. My pain as decreased quite a bit.  The tiredness will eventually decrease also.

Wow, I am finally on regular foods.  It is wierd though. I have to learn how to eat all over again.  You really have to listen to your stomach. The feeling of fullness is very different then before.

We should eat protiens first anyways, BUT I have found that meat is the easiest things to eat. I had ground up hamburger with ketchup on it. Last night I had rib eye steak. Granted I could only eat about 3-4 oz.  Starches for me have been difficult. I get heartburn real easy from starches.

Protien Drinks: I want to recommend Goat Whey from GNC. It is sweet and you get 30g of protien in just 4 oz of the drink.  It is a powder and you use cold water. I add ice in the blender just to give it a frosty feel.

I have lost 27 lbs in one month.

10 days post surgery

Feb 17, 2008

I am doing well. I am up and walking around & doing small errands outside for about 2-3hrs a day.  No driving yet. My husband takes me everywhere. I still can't have my stomach crunched up from sitting to long.

I have lost 10 lbs since surgery. A total of 20 counting the pre-op diet which was basically the atkins diet for 2 wks.

Hardest thing so far is getting all my required protiens and water in. Since I have to take such small sips, it takes forever to get 64 0z of fluid and 50g of protien.

I am getting pretty sleepy. Bye for now.

Weight Loss

Feb 11, 2008

It has been 4 days since surgery and had no weight loss. If you experience this too after your surgery just remember your stomach is very bloated. Don't get discouraged.

Gastic Sleeve is done.

Hi all,  Surgery went well. Dr. Landers removed 70% of my stomach.  I was told the first thing I said coming out of the anethesia was that I was hungry.  There was silence.  The hunger went away as I woke up more and more.

I had trouble with keeping meds and fluids down and had severe heartburn. Here are some tips that I learned during my recovery.

1. Take Benedryl - Chewables: for nauseau. It has an anti nausea agent in   it.

2. Pepcid Complete - Chewable: was wonderful for the heart burn.

NOTE: After I took these, I ahd no problem getting my fluids in.

I have my first followup appt with my surgeon on 02/14/08.

Surgery in 1 Week!

Jan 31, 2008

I am having the gastric sleeve on Feb 7, 2008. I am nervous. I have not got to talk to anyone who had it done. I am concerned about the recovery the first 2 days after surgery. I hear different things. Mine with out-patient. It is being done at the Puget SoundSurgical Center insted of a hospital. Dr. Landers said I am low risk and a hospital will not be necessary. However, I have the option.

I would love to hear from someone that has had this surgery.
