Hi Everyone, My name is Suzie M, I had the open gastric bypass in Oct 01, In Flint, MIchigan, Weight was 278 at 5 51/2, 61 yrs of age, Now almost 66 in Nov 07 weigh in 140's give or take a few pounds. Never have I felt better in my life. I work out at the club 3 times a week, and so look forward to it. I never exercised in my life, I worked and stood on my feet all day long, so by nighttime I was so tired I just came home and ate. The surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself, and I have never looked back, always been so thankful for it. We moved to Fl in 05, and love the fact you can get out any day or time you want, don't miss the Michigan winters at all. We have 16 grandchildren, 3 great, 2 sets of twins, and 4 grown children, only bad part they are all in Michigan. We try and fly up several times a yr, and they all come down at different times to stay with us. They love that we are so close to the beaches etc, and know they are always welcomed to come and bring friends. My husbands health hasn't been good, he was evuated for a heart transplant in June, and it is looking like that is the way we are headed, then a kidney transplant would be needed later on. We are just trusting the Lord for the outcome. It has been so good to be down here, he loves the weather, not this time of the year as much, because of the heat, but we have a large pool in our complex that we take advantage of all the time. We have a good church home, and have met many wonderful people down here, so even tho our kids are all up north we feel part of the area. We sing in nursing homes with a group from our church, as well as sing at church. I am so glad to have this group to connect with, I am always available to chat with anyone if I can be of help to you.
