I live in Spanaway Washington and I am so thankful to have found this site. I have been overweight all of my life. I have lost hundreds of pounds and gained it all back plus some. At my first appointment with the surgeon I weighed in at 362lbs. I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure and am on several medications for these issues. I have 5 children and 5 grandchildren and my husband who is scared but supportive. My children are supportive and encouraging me to have the surgery. So on Oct. 18 I am going to have an RNY at ST. Francis Hospital in Federal Way Washington. I am both scared and elated. I have been so encouraged by all the stories I have read here. One of the things that is humbling is the knowledge of this obesity issue and how many lives it affects and the devastation wreacked by it. I know that in my life there are many things I have been unable to do due to my weight. I am looking forward and being positive and looking forward to the changes that will come, good and bad. I consider it all a part of this journey. No one ever said it was going to be easy. I am prepared to face this head on.
So for all that have gone through this or are just beginning your journey I am glad you are here and I am not alone in this fight.
