6 days Post op

It was a hell of a week. Alot of things happen to you noone prepares your for.

Surgery was monday and I did not get out of recovery until 10 pm and was put in a room. Rough night with lots of good drugs.
 
My diet started on Tuesday. 30 cc 's of liquid every hour. That is the little cup on top of the night quil bottle in an hour, Broth, Jello, water. 1 of those every hour. YOu also have to do a Sprirometer every hour so you do not develope pnemonia. That is a breathing maching, They had these things on my legs so blood clots would not happen, they massaged my legs (Which I could have taken them home) and I was on oxygen. Then wanted you to get up and walk as much as possiblem but I still had the groin pain.

Wed, when the surgeon came in and had me do the breather I was bringing up thick green stuff, so he kept me in, He beat the hell out of me, luckily I understood what he was doing because I used to watch Lisa who had Cystic FIbrosis, but that hurt like hell and all the coughing did not help my groin issue. They took me for an ulra sound to see if a clot developed but nothing. Still 30 cc (2 tablespoons liguid) every hour.

He decided to keep me which was okay with me.

Thursday, I had a fever and did really well, Yippee now I can eat 30cc every 15 minutes. It's amazing you are not hungry, Did good all day and then at night for no reason I started vomiting. Well that meant no discharge Fri, and they asked me what I ate because there was food in the vomit. I never ate anything.

On Friday afternoon as I got communion for the second time, I realized that was what I ate, A communion wafer, never thought of as food, so here I was trying to scrape this wafer of the roof of my mouth to not swallow it. Why do they even come to the rooms of people who can't eat.

By Friday my pain was more my leg still then my stomach and they won't let you leave till you have a bm so that was a big deal on Friday.

Saturday night I am finally home, Still running a fever so we have to watch it, still have this drain in my stomach,still have groin pain, still on 30 cc of liquid every 15 minutes, Greatfull my doctor let me stay, Addicted to Delorian, Happy Drugs that took pain away, Dr, weaned me and cut me off. Rockiset what they sent me home with does nothing Tylenol is working which is better as not a narcadic.

Thought I would be sleeping on the recliner but actually had a painfree night sleep in my bed.

Right about now still not sure about this whole thing.

Then I felt bad. I was so excited to be discharged but as they wheeled me out of the room and down the hall I started crying, scared to come home. Everything on me now, I made David feel bad. The poor man wheeling me asking me If I was afraid of David and to go with him when he was getting the car. Lucky I did not get David arrested, at least he did not know till we got home and I told him. Poor man, he is so good to me and exhausted.

If you ask me right now how I feel about this whole thing, not sure how to answer. If my groin pain went away I would probably be so much better.  Also when I weighed my self the day after surgery it said I gained 13 pounds and throughout the week I only lost 2.  The nurses said all the intervenous.  I am also having to do heperin shots for the next week.
I never gave my self shots before so this will be interesting.
