I too have been heavy all of my life. My whole family was on Jenny Craig when I was 12. My mom had RNY Mother's Day of 2006. My dad had it September 2007. I have been going back and forth with Kaiser for awhile. I have tried all of the drugs and all of the different programs. I have SEVERE migraines which I loose my speech, vision and my hands go numb. Scary! I have been tested for everything you can think of, and have had CATSCANS and MRI's.
I finally got the referral and went to the first class on Good Friday 2007. After this that and the other I finally got to meet my surgeon on Friday October 5th, 2007. I did thre first weigh in at 260. (Good Friday) and after meeting with Dr. Baggs he advised I will need to be 240 (I weighed in at 242.3 + I was 1 day before my TOTM) So I will meet with the case worker on the 17th. Dr Baggs said as long as I am at my goal that we will schedule the surgery. He said we are looking at before Thanksgiving! Can you believe it! I am scared, but I know this is going to get worse, and I have to show my babies what kind of life to lead. So that is what I am going to do! Wish me luck!
