"The surgeon I chose was very infomative. He spent approximately 1 hour with my mother and I explaining the benefits and risks of the surgery. His office staff was kind but I dont think they are aggressive enough with insurances. I felt like I did a lot of the work myself (but I guess if you want something bad enough you will do it. I can't think of anything that I didn't like about him. He emphasized a lot on aftercare and the risks and side effects that can happen. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me the surgery. I think he was honest in that the risks can be serious. The program he is with has a very structured aftercare set up for the first year after surgery and then annual followup thereafter. I felt he was a great doctor. I am due for surgery tomorrow so hopefully my opinion stays this way. I believe both competence and bedside manner are very important."
