Totally rocked my calories today! I am proud of me!
Have identified that in the evening before going to bed is really when I am craving food...specifically something sweet. Tonight tried doing "desert" with supper of sugar free chocolate pudding. That did the trick! Tht little bit of sweetness is taking the edge off for me and leaving me satisfied. Learning what works as I go along with this. Baby steps that are adding up to the bigger picture.

Father's Day

With today being Father's Day, my hubby got to choose where we went for lunch. He chose a Chinese buffet that just opened. Oy, but out the window went my calories for the day! I use My Fitness Pal app to log my food, and according to those calculations, I only have about 150 calories left for the day...and I haven't even had supper yet! Obviously eating out is one of those things that need to happen on a rare occasion. Tomorrow will be better! Thank goodness that I didn't use up very many calories for breakfast, or I'd really be off today!
Day One in Review

I am proud of myself today. I haven't been perfect, but I have done well for my first day getting back on track. The hardest thing for me is getting back in the habit of not drinking fluids with meals. This is a difficult thing for me, as I am constantly drinking water or Crystal Lite. Will take some getting used to for sure. Cutting the carbs out is a challenge too. All in all, I think it has been a good day.

I had my first ever turkey burger for lunch and I am totally hooked! So delish! How is it I've never had one of these before? 30 grams of protein and doesn't even need sauce/seasoning...yum!

Today I am feeling confident and prepared for this journey. I have my food log and my menus planned. I am a planner and having these two pieces are crucial to me. I feel backed up as well with the love and support of others. I am determined and excited to make these positive changes.
Back Once Again

5 years and 2 months. That's how long it's been since I've been on OH. In the past 5 years I have gotten to a healthy weight, had a beautiful baby girl (who is now 3!) and have put on nearly 100 pounds that I had previously lost after RNY. I am back and ready to get back on track. My biggest downfall has been bringing carbs back into my diet. They are my weakness and what truly brings out my food addiction. I am ashamed of the weight I have put on, yet also feel hopeful that I can once again take it back off. I am not perfect. The surgery did not cure my addiction to food, it just has provided me a tool to help overcome it. I still have my weak moments and my trigger foods that haunt me. But I have a weapon to help me fight the battle. So I am back, stepping forward to take the control back once again, and refreshing on what I've already learned to attack this enemy once again. I beat it once and I will do it again!!
First Day Back

Tomorrow morning I go in to get my labs drawn for my 2 year post-op appointment with Dr VerSteeg. Man, these past 2 years have flown!
I'm excited to kick it up with my second day at the Y too! Can't wait until tomorrow!!
Been Awhile...

I re-joined the Y again yesterday. I'm afraid that I've had a tough time this winter with staying on my exercise schedule, thus I've officially hit my plateau... I'm ready to kick it up to get things started again! I have only 30 pounds to go to make it to goal and I really want to get there!
Tomorrow will be my 2 year Surgi-versary! YAY!! Can't believe it's been 2 years already...time has flown! I am going to call and schedule a time this next week to get my labs done and meet with my surgeon for my 2 year appointment.
I'm hoping to get on OH a little more regularly to keep up with the inspiration and networking...
In all, life is good!!!!

I am also happy to say that I am 100% good on getting in all of my vitamins daily! (This is something I had been struggling with.) My water intake is also at 100%, so life is GOOD!!!!!
