Every Journey begins with a first step

So I went to my first seminar last night -- Dr. Darren Soong from Gastric Band Institute. It was educational and I was impressed with the doctor. He was concise, a little humorous and I liked that he still had a lot of enthusiasm for these surgeries and the people he meets. At one point he said "I love my job" since surgery is so transformative to people's lives.
The funny thing is I brought my best friend who is also about my same size for my moral support. By the end, she was filling out the forms and whipping out her insurance card too! It probably won't work out that way (since life hardly travels so neatly), but wouldn't it be cool if we were both doing this together! Ah well... first step taken. It's like I say about so many things in life... one step and we'll see where it goes, no commitments yet.
