Lynnie B.
I was in a car accident on way to Tx for vacation in March 2009. A drunk driver hit us & I suffered 11 lacerated tendons & was at Mayo for 3 months & 4 surgeries. I have Occupational Therapy 3 times a wk . I crawled out of the lil window. The other 3 ppl were aided by Jaws of Life. Had I not lost 200# I would NEVER have been able to get out the window to go & get help for the others in the van.
I heard that Darcie is back in the Chat room & I want to go in & visit with her. I miss her dearly.
I had Open RNY on May 4th of 2000 in Minneapolis. My surgeon was Dr Raymond Drew. He is the BEST.
Life has been wonderful the past 6 yrs. I have met a man & we have been together for 6 yrs now. He is wonderful.
I knew that the WLS was a whole complete lifestyle change & it is, without a doubt!
This is not the easy way out as many think. I am 6 yrs post op & have maintained my wt loss & weigh 125#. I give up a LOT to maintain the wt loss. But it is so worth it to me.
I have to be diligent in what I choose to eat.
I have YET to eat any candy, sweets, sugar, in 9 yrs now & wont.
I have come way to far in what I have accomplished & will remain vigilent in this part of my life.
Life isn't easy & we have to play with the cards that we are dealt.
Life is what you make it.
