Two weeks out. So far, so (unbelievably) good.

Jul 18, 2010

Surgery is now two weeks ago. Man, this has been actually EASY so far. I thought I would have some, or all of the described complications. Instead, I had almost none. No nausea.  No dumping, yet.  Laparoscopic wounds healed in ten days, and stopped hurting after three days.  I was up and about on day three, when my friend and I left the guesthouse to walk to the center of town. where we got a drink (linden flower tea for me). Gotten by on tylenol (paracetamol) on day four, and off pain killers on day six.  Could do household chores on day five. Returned to my office job 10 days after surgery, but I could have returned after seven days.

So far, in those two weeks, I lost 6 kilos, 13 pounds. My mood has been better then before surgery. The enforced near-fast causes some light headedness, but that's about it.

My main problem now is to get in enough floods, as I can't drink with my food anymore. I actually have to plan drinking enough. But that is a small price to pay! I already eat everything I want, but in tiny tiny small quantities and chewed to death. :)

The no sugar rule is easier then I thought, getting off sugar before surgery paid off.
So far, I'm firmly in the camp of " one of the better things I ever did".
