Hey Fellow Sleevers: I started my WLJ Oct 5, 2015. That was my first weigh in after deciding to join a Bariatric Program. My starting Wt:299 and my Ht: 5 ft 3 in. I am in my mid Forties-a Wife and Mother of 2 children. I knew it was time to get a handle on my weight. Things were getting dicey. My BP/my AC1/My cholesterol were getting out of control. I want to be here for a long time. I lost 30 pounds during the pre-surgery program. 14 pounds came off in 8 days during my pre-surgery 8 day Optifast Liquid Diet-was not a fan! ON Surgery day I was 262. My first post surgery appt I weighed in at 251. My 4 week appt is July 7th. I am still in the pureed stage of things. Happy to report that I am meeting protein and liquid goals quite well. This last week I hiked 8 miles which I am stoked about. I maybe ingesting a little too much protein but frankly I will be able to correct that as I can incorporate more foods. As we know, this journey is a Marathon not a sprint. I am a very sporty woman. I played Softball/Floor Hockey/Ice Hockey/Co-Ed Football etc. My problem is I could lose weight but could never keep it off. Truth be told my eating habits sucked! Once I lost weight I would revert back to my issue which is portion control. I also loved burgers/pizza and Chinese. I have been really following the Bariatric plan to a T. I am very regimented with the approach-I measure everything to keep on track. I also use a timer to time when I can eat again after eating. My Surgery went well too. No major issues to report there thank God bc I was anxious. No regrets so far-I am on my way to a healthier Malou (Marilou)
