Update

Apr 25, 2014

I have not been on this website in awhile so I figured I would give an update in case anyone actually reads my blog or visits my page.  I am down 140 lbs now and have been holding pretty steady for a couple months.  I am 13 lbs from my goal and 33 lbs from the Dr.'s goal.  It is getting very hard to lose the weight even though I am training for my second half marathon, which is in 8 days, and exercising like a mad woman!  I am very happy with my size now though so I am ok with slow weight loss!  I am in a size 10 and small/medium shirts.  I do have a little loose skin, which I will fix a little at a time.  I am scheduled for a tummy tuck in 18 days!  I will post before and after photos.  I also want to get my arms and breasts done!  I graduate in one month and am moving to Miami for my residency in Internal Medicine!  I am so excited!  I also have met a wonderful man and things are looking very promising!  It has been 10 yrs since I have been in a serious relationship and mostly because I was unhappy with myself!!!  My life is Perfect!!!

Onederland!!!

Aug 03, 2013

Today I have finally hit my biggest goal...Onerderland!  It seemed like the last 10 lbs were the slowest and hardest to lose but they finally came off!  I now only have 59 lbs to go until my goal!  I have been running 4 days a week, usually 2-5 miles each day!  I have a 5k next weekend and a half marathon in September!  So excited...I love running now! Who would've ever thought...

Yesterday was a huge day for me!  I was able to go to the mall and shop at any store there!  I bought clothes from Express, H&M NY and Company. I have waited so long to do it and it was everything I hoped it would be.  I also chopped off my thinning, brittle, dry hair!  First time in my life I have had short hair!!!  Love it, love it all!  Size 16 and medium/large!  No more plus-sizes or X's in front of my size!!!

First Goal - 50 lbs!!!!!

Mar 04, 2013

After a total of 18 days worth of stalls, the first stall being 11 days and the second being 7 days, I have finally lost 50 lbs!!! It also happens within a day of my 2 month surgiversary!  I have been doing great with the diet! I am never hungry and I do not get any kind of signal from my pouch saying that it is full so I continue to measure everything. I eat at most a 1/2 cup per meal. I am easily getting in my protein and the liquids are still so so. I always get at least 48 oz in.  I have been having a hard time exercising because I have been in Columbus for the past month and I do not have a gym membership here and the weather sucks! I can't find a gym that allows memberships for only 4 weeks at a time!  I am back in Erie this weekend though and will have access to my gym again.  I have already made my schedule!  Body combat and Zumba here I come!!!  I am also signing up for the Dayton Air Force Marathon (I will be doing the half marathon of course). I have until September to prepare for that.  Lastly, I bought the 60 day Insanity workout for the rainy/snowy months!

I am loving my pouch and loving life!  I am going through clothes like crazy!  I have never been so happy!

1 month update

Feb 01, 2013

So I have my 1 month surgiversary coming up tomorrow. I have lost 32 lbs so far...including a 10 day stall at week 2!  I know our bodies have to adjust and I am only putting in 600-750 calories a day so it went into starvation mode. I just started losing again at the beginning of this week. I had hoped to reach 40 lbs for the first month, but I am more than okay with 32. I have an appt with my surgeon on Monday. I am now eating soft foods and will be doing so for a month. I have no problems getting in 80 grams of protein a day, but the 64 oz of water is a constant struggle. I get so bloated from all the water that it makes it hard. I usually can get in at least 48 oz, which my NUT says is the minimum I should aim for. I figure as I become more active, it will be easier. I am hoping to get cleared for exercise on Monday, but I am guessing he is going to make me wait 2 more weeks. I will have to make do with the walking...BORING!  Anyway, for anyone that may be reading my updates, I just wanted to let you know that I am using MyFitnessPal.com to track my food and exercise. It is a great program and there are a bunch of us on there. Come join us...my user name is HotDocToBe. Talk to you all later!

Trip to the Emergency Room

Jan 17, 2013

Well I woke up this morning with lower right abdomen pain. It was mild so I thought I had just strained a muscle. I got up and went to work and the pain started getting worse. All of a sudden I had this excruciating pain that felt like someone was stabbing me. I yelped and keeled over. The physician I was working with got a wheelchair and they sent me downstairs to the ER. I was so worried that it had something to do with my surgery. I had a CT and it ended up being a ruptured ovarian cyst...who knew those things were soooo painful! Anyway, I went home for the day and took some narcotics. They said the pain would get better the next couple days as my body absorbs the free fluid in my abdomen.  Thank God it wasn't a complication from the surgery!

Back to work!

Jan 14, 2013

After only 11 days since my surgery, I had to go back to work. I was worried about being dizzy and getting tired too easily, but it ended up going very well...of course all I did for the 6 hrs was sit and look at pt charts!  I just can't wait until Friday, when I get to eat MEAT!

1 week postop appt

Jan 11, 2013

So I had my first post op appt and it went very well. My incisions are healing well. They were happy with my weight loss so far. I did not get bumped up to pureed foods yet .  I do get to have full liquids though. These include yogurt, pudding, cream soups, protein shakes. I had a yogurt today and it took me an 1 1/2 hrs to eat the whole thing and I have been full ever since (5 hrs later). It is working and that makes me so excited!!!

6 days postop

Jan 08, 2013

Yesterday was the day that things really turned around. I feel almost back to normal! I no longer have any bloating and the pain is so minimal. I am walking a lot! I return to work/school on Monday so I am a little nervous that I will get tired too easily. I am doing my Psychiatry rotation so I don't expect to be too active. I am sure it will be fine! I have my first postop appt on Friday. I am really hoping that he says I can start my pureed diet. I NEED protein! Anyway, that is all for now!
