The new me!!
Jun 14, 2010
Well I did get my RNY on August 4, 2009. It has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself. On surgery day I weighed 285, I currently weigh 182, thats 103 lbs. since surgery!!! I can't begin to tell you what it feels like to remove 103 lbs. of weight. As my son said "you lost a whole me" it makes me wonder how I carried that weight so long? I do know I feel awesome and I have tons of energy and confidence something I didn't have before the surgery. I still have around 30 lbs. to my goal and 10 lbs to surgeons goal, I hope to accomplish the 10 before my one year anniversary. I feel very blessed that my surgery went so well, I have had no complications, actually I don't even have one complaint. I would tell anyone who is thinking about this surgery to do your research and understand that this procedure will change your life!!! I just feel I gave up is nothing in comparision to what I have gained. I have a new me a happy, healthy, confident, me ready to enjoy the rest of my life. I have no regrets!!!!!

Me again!!
May 28, 2009
Well it has been over two years since I made my first post. I was unable to pursue gastric bypass at the time, because my husbands employer changed companies and the new one had an exclusion. About six months ago my husband made a career move and our new insurance covers the surgery. I have met with my bariatric surgeon and completed my psyc. eval. Just waiting to hear from the insurance company. The surgeon said it would take 2 weeks to a month to hear from the insurance. I hope it's two weeks!!! I am just thankful that I may have another chance at this surgery. Hopefully my next post will be my approval!!

Well today I got the news that my insurance has the coverage I will need. So I was able to make a consultation with Dr. Hornbostel. He is so busy it will be on February 7, 2007. Deana left message that I would have to meet a few requirements before surgery, probable six month diet and psch eval. I am excited though, but I do know this process will take awhile. I am going to pcp Friday to start diet plan. I guess I will find out my true weight then haven't weighed on a doctor scale in quite awhile.
