My name is Marianne and I live in Los Lunas, NM.  I work in Albuquerque as an ER secratary at Presbyterian Hospital.  I have been with my husband for 28 years.  I have three children and four grandchildren.
I haven't much to say right now all I know is that I am ready to have this surgery.  My back hurts, my knees hurt and it is getting hard to walk around the way I  would like.  I have asthma and I get winded alot.  I'm hoping that with this surgery I will be able to get back to how I was.  I don't expect a miracle but I do plan on having a lot of changes in my life.  My family and friends are being very supportive and I am happy about that.
I'm scared and nervous and excited all at the same time but I can understand that.  I just hope things work out for me.  I want to go out dancing again and just be able to put my leg up and tie my shoes the way I used to.
I am very determined and stubborn so I know I will reach my goal and feel better.  I also know that it will be hard at first, at least with the surgery it self but I will make it.  I have so much to live for that again I can hardly wait to get this done

I had my surgery on the 28th of February and I have already been back to work for a couple of weeks.  The surgery went well with the exception of getting a infection on the abdominal incision Dr. Syn made for the hernia repair he did.  I have been on antibodics since my one monthe check-up and I was healing by the third day.  It has almost healed up and is no longer hurting like it was before.

I'm taking it day by day and learning more about myself each day.  I know what foods I can tolerate and which ones I should stay away from for awhile.  Your body will definately let you know when you over do it.
