Well i did it six weeks later i feel great lost about 40 pounds. This has been a very difficult recovery for me i had a double surgery and one of my wounds got infected i have been wearing a medical vac for the last 2 week so that the wound heals.  At first i felt like i had made a big mistake but i finally feel great.  I am still a little scared have been stalled for the last week but i have been eating. It is important for people to know that this is a tool not a quick fix.  I can now eat anything from pizza to chocolate. i don't but i can the only thing i don't seem to be able to have is pasta which is not the end of the world even if i am italian.  I know i will do well in time but this is a long journey.  The sleev has given me hope an motivation.  bye for now

A couple of months ago i decided to save myself. I had been over weight for the last 20 years.  I was tired of feeling like am old man.  My marriage fell apart last year and life became more and more difficult.  I began to eat and eat more and more. I hit my all time high 286 pounds.   Finally stopped eating but I'm still fighting that losing battle. Thought about the lap band but when i started looking into WLS.   I was quickly attracted to the vertical sleeve.  I started to look into having the procedure done in Montreal where i live.  If i was willing to wait 2 years i could get it for free at home but i decided my life was worth the 5000$.  Oddly enough I later discovered i had a double hernia. The wait time was not so bad only 2 months but since i was having the sleeve i figured i would do both at the same time.  I looked  up medical tourism I booked my date.  On the 25 of November i will be sleeved and have my hernia repaired in Mexico with Dr almanaza.  Total cost 5500$.  I did tons of research and decided on this doctor because of cost. This wasn't the only thing but it was a bonus.  I was going to book with Dr. Joya but i was not willing to pay the extra 6000$ for the sleeve and 3000$ for the hernia so i called a few other doctors and most were and extra 500$ for the hernia and but Dr almanaza was the only one that i found that did business with medical tourism corp.  They are  listed with the better business bureau any accepted credit cards i wasn't comfortable doing a wire transfer so i decided to go with them.  What i read leads me to think he is a good doctor but this is really a no frills place.   I hope i made the right choice.
