I went to the Gastric Bypass Support meeting at Mobile Infirmary tonight. Dr. Hannon was there and spoke on some very interesting topics. There were a few people there that has already had the surgery done. Many were like me in the midst of trying to get insurance to approve them and worried about the outcome. Dr. Hannon works along with my surgeon Dr.Weinstein, They really seem to have so much knowlegde in the area of bariatric surgery and I feel so much more comfortable being in knowlegdable hands. Im a bit concerned about wat I will feel in recovery right after the surgery. When I had my gall bladder taken out 2 weeks ago, it was so much pain in recovery. Perhaps because it was so infected and had a huge stone stuck in it. If anyone has had WL surgery at Providence hospital please let me know and let me know what was the out come.

Today I ran around every where trying to get medical reports. Luckily I got most of them very easy, however Alabama One Weight Loss made me pay $10 plus .15 cents per each page. How silly is that, on top of it, THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE THEM TO ME TODAY!!!!!!!
My psych report has not been sent to Dr. Weinstien's office yet. I went on Oct. 31  to have it done and was promised it would be just a few days, now it's been a week. Hopefully they will fax it 2moro.
I am worried about the approval process from my Insurance company, they require a lot. In all my medical records dating back to 1999 its states im OBESE! and needed to be on a diet plan. Hopefully this is proof to them that I can not do this on my own and have had a lifelong problem with obesity.
Another thing that Im worried about is, my insurance pays just a max of $25,000.00 for weight loss surgery, and Mobile Infirmary requires all of the patients costs be paid up front....Im worried they would want thousand of dollars more. I hope I can get this surgery by the end of 2007, it looks possible but depends on how fast I get the insurance approval and when I can get my schedule date for surgery. If anyone has any information about the costs of the surgery at Mobile Infirmary let me know. I am going to the a support group meeting 2moro night. Should be interesting, I will write about it after I get home for anyone interested about it.
