"Dr. Afram performed my open RNY on January 15, 2008, and I've been completely impressed with his expertise, follow-up, and all the ancillary services his office provides. No, he's not the most \"touch-feely\" kind of guy, but his expertise is top-notch, and I have no doubt he cares deeply about his patients and their success. He is SO experienced with this (having performed the procedure nearly 4,000 times) that he is efficient and knows exactly what questions to ask and how to handle situations that come up. I had a complicated surgery (3.5 hours) and complications afterward, but those had to do with my individual circumstances, not Dr. Afram. I feel that anyone who chooses Dr. Afram for their surgery is in the best possible hands. And, for the record, his nurse practitioner at the hospital, Stacey, is *phenomenal*. She made a huge difference throughout my stay. In addition, Dr. Afram's practice AND the bariatric center at George Washington University Hospital are both designated as Centers of Excellence. If you're in the D.C. area, Dr. Afram is an excellent choice of surgeon."
