I have pondered the WLS for at least 2 years and have been viewing OH for about 1 year. November 2006 I finally made the decision to see a surgeon. I had my first appointment with Dr. V on 1/23/07 he was very concerned and considerate and I knew I had made the right decision.
By 3/5/07 I have all my pre-surgical testing done and when I got a denial from UHC on 3/12 I was devestated. Put in an appeal that was denied and went to my employer for a second appeal. I found out that they made a mistake and should have never denied me. Now my insurance rep is telling me that she is special handling the case, however I need a auth # for the surgeon and the hospital.
I have been given a date of 5/10 for RNY and I am so excited.
Date changed to 5/14. I got a call from the doctors office they didn't realize I was a bypass patient and they only do lap band on Thursdays. What are they talking about they didn't didn't realize. Stupid. So now at least it is only an additional 4 days but I am dissappointed still.
