10 Days and Counting

A friend of mine who had her RNY surgery 2 years ago turned me onto this site and I loved the fact there's a blog here for me to document the start of my new life. I just wish I knew about it 8 months ago when this journey started. I have a surgery date of November 18th so I am less than 2 weeks away from the big day. I have my first pre-op appt. on wednesday and I must say I don't know what to expect. Yes there's the mumbo jumbo of the xray, EKG and I'm sure some blood work, but what else could they possibly do that takes half a day to complete?

I must admit I'm getting more nervous as the date nears. It's going to happen, its really going to happen. I tried some grocery shopping and then in talking with others who had the surgery realized that the books are so unrealistic in what they teach you that you can eat right after surgery. Seriously, what were they thinking?

So I am cleanin out cupboards today and ridding myself of the old food and bringing in the new. Amazing how much space I now have. 11 days and counting and still getting ready for the big day.
