Who is Melanie??? I'm from Colorado. I have lived here my whole life. I am the youngest of 3 kids and the only girl. I have been pretty much overweight all of my life and I guess I thought that being overweight was just something I was and that I was just going to have to live with it for the rest of my life. I also thought that if people didn't accept me.. Melanie for being overweight then I didn't need them in my life. Over the years I have tried different diets. I worked with a personal trainer and did his diet and exercise program. I did a weight loss program with my PCP. I even went to a dietician. Sometimes things just don't work out like you would like them to. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to have the surgery done. It took me a year to decide if the surgery was something I wanted to do. I had three different people I know have the surgery and they all had different experiences with it. I talked to them about it and got their opinions and learned about their experiences. I then decided to look into the surgery.. I guess this was my time to do my research. I finally decided that doing the surgery was the right thing for me to do. It was my last resort kind of. I had done other things and they didn't work. I started my process in February of 2007 and it's an on going thing. I just can't wait to see what the new year holds for me. I'm excited and anxious to begin my journey through a "new" life for me.
