My name is Melanie. I am 31 years old, and I had my life-saving, life-renewing RNY on September 15, 2006 at St. Vincent's in Carmel, IN. My surgeon is Dr. Christopher Evanson.
On the day of my surgery, I weighed 306 pounds, but my alltime high was 311. Other than the obesity, I was in excellent health; however, it was only a matter of time before the effects of my weight would reak havoc on my body.
I began thinking about bariatric surgery in October 2005 shortly after my dear friend Vickie had her RNY. She is truly my inspiration and a great friend. I love her. I began actively pursuing this journey in January 2006. In September, it happened!!! I have only regretted it about one milli-second.
My life has greatly changed since my re-birthday of September 15. I cannot believe how much better I feel. Today is November 10, 2006, and I now weigh 269.2 pounds.
