I first want to say I am thankful for this site as it has given me insight, clarity, calmed my nerves and most importantly I don't feel alone anymore. I have been overweight for all of my 20's and 30's and part of my 40's. I have dieted and exercised like everyone else on this site and have had some successes (lost 90 pds), and then some failures (gained 70pds back). I have thought long and hard and I am finally getting the Gastric sleeve in a few weeks. I am excited and scared beyone belief all at the same time. I have just started my preop diet and already feel deprived, but I will hang in there and tough things out. Another positive thing about this is my best friend since I was 12 is getting the surgery to mid July so it will be nice to have someone you know go through the same things with you. I know this isn't going to be easy but I tell you I AM READY! I am ready to become healthier, I am ready to be able to shop in any store I walk into for clothes, I am ready to not second guess whether or not the seat belt on the plane is going to fit me or not, I am ready to play with my children anyway they want me to, I am ready to become a better wife to my husband, but most importantly I am ready to LIVE! I also can't wait to meet people, talk with you and share our unique experiences with each other and have each other's back.
