ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! :)

Feb 03, 2011

Today is my one year anniversary of my surgery date. Wow… looking back at it I feel overwhelmed with emotions. In the last year I have had one of the best years of my life. I have been able to shed 130+ lbs, gone down 7 dress sizes from a 28 to a 14, I now work out 5+ days a week, I’m dating someone I truly care for and is good to me… I just can’t believe this is my life! I don’t know if I truly understood how my weight has literally and figuratively weighed me down. I have less day to day worries about stupid things, like “will I be able to fit on that airplane seat” or “will I be able to keep up with my friends when hiking”. So many silly things I occupied my head with are now not even a thought. I love this new me! I’m more confident in myself and I go after what I deserve. I’m not sitting in the shadows of life… I’m out there confident in myself and who I am.

I am also realistic and know that my weight will ALWAYS be a struggle for me no matter what my size it. I still struggle with curbing my snacks and eliminating bad foods. I can see how people can gain their weight back because it has gotten easier for me to eat larger quantities of food then I could even months ago. I have to always be actively conscious of the choices in my life and try to make the best ones. Some days my choices are bad but the next day I’m back to making good ones. This is the struggle of life and not one I’m unfamiliar with as a person who has always struggled with weight. The difference now is that I’m a HEALTHY weight and live a healthy lifestyle by working out and being active. This is the girl I have always wanted to be! I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life living it with this new outlook and new body!!

Good luck to everyone.  Fight the fight!!!

Less then 2 months post op

Mar 24, 2010

Hello,

I cant believe I just found this web site yesterday!  It's full of great information.  I had my surgery on February 3, 2010 and am feeling great.  I had lost 40 lbs prior to surgery and have lost 29 lbs since surgery.  Everyday I feel better and look better then I ever have.  I'm sort of hoping this year flies by so I can finally be at the weight I have always wanted.   I have been taking pictures once a month in the same outfit so I can see the difference in my body.  It's weird to look back at my first photo that really wasn't that long ago.

Good times r a comin!
