Well I've never done this blogging thing, but I figured I would give it a try for the upcoming adventure in my life.
I started my "official" trek in January of '10. After having spoken with several bypass and lap band friends, I decided that I needed to look into this further for myself. I attended my surgeon's pre-op workshop, and met with a PA in his office the next week. Within another two weeks, I had met with the nutritionist and the psychologist and received clearance from both. I was then notified that I required cardiac clearance and quickly was scheduled for an appointment at the cardiology center. What I was not expecting, however, was that I would need an echocardiogram and a chemical stress test. I just hope that I can get these things finished and cleared in time to still make my wanted (needed) surgery date of late March.
Today, Feb. 8th, I completed and cleared my Echo. My chemical stress test (2 day process) is currently scheduled for the 16th and 17th. I am on a cancellation list however, and hope that I can get this test in later this week.
I am very excited at the idea of FINALLY being able to lose a large amount of the excess weight that I have been carrying around for so long. My only concerns are that I will once again fail at the attempt to change my eating habits, and eventually regain the weight!! A pretty big concern!!
Hopefully I will get some pics up soon. I also have lots of questions about protein powders, bars, and vitimins...so if anyone happens upon this blog and has any input, I would be appreciative. Good luck to all the rest of you that are on this journey too. Perhaps we can become friends along the path. :)
