Just wanted to share a HUGE NSV! I just passed my one year surgiversary a week and a half ago. Prior to my surgery I was a heavy smoker and was so short of breath that one flight of stairs made me really winded. the combination of my weight and the smoking made exercise impossible. This past weekend I ran a race and ranked #34 with a 27:34 5k time. I couldn't be more proud!

Me at the starting line on the Mackinaw Bridge this morning. This bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world, uniting the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Foot traffic is only allowed on this bridge 3 times a year, today being the annual Labor Day event. I walked/ran the 5.6 miles with my son. It was amazing, and I cannot believe how excited I am to be running this same bridge October 6th in my very first competitive foot race! I love my RNY!

 BMI says I am no longer obese....just overweight! Having been morbidly obese this feels fantastic! I am starting to notice that even my littlest outfits are getting too big....WOW! After fighting my thyroid disease for four months whilst stalled this is so joyful to me. I love my RNY! Hoping to get to goal at #164 :)

SO after months of being stalled due to hypothyroidism and malabsorption of my synthroid, I am losing again! And I am now in ONEDERLAND!!!! Thank God I finally made it! I am running a 5k three times a week, and am healthier than I have ever been. I am the tiniest 199# girl I have ever met, and wear medium tops and 8/10 bottoms. Iam hoping to get to goal by Christmas, but if I never do I would be happy because I like myself just like this! I love my RNY! Thank you sooo much to those of you that stuck with me through the misery of being stalled while doing all of the right things :) I am soooo happy!

 My thyroid levels must be normalizing because I have lost 5# this week! Thank God! 

I don't know how I managed to miss this, but I guess i have made it to the Century Club!!! My tracker only shows post surgery pounds lost but my highest weight was #302. So i have officially lost #100!!! Yay Yay Yay Me!!!!                                                                                                                           Update: I have changed the tracker to reflect total weight lost.

 I am very happy to report that the increased dose of synthroid is working! Scales moved again and I am feeling better. Yay! It should only get better from here on out. Thank goodness this is getting sorted out!

 So I am really pissed off and need to rant now! I had my 6 month appt with my surgeon. ( it was a few weeks late) I had labs done at 3 months and 6 months and I asked the nurse for copies of each for my records. To my dismay I realized that at 3 months my Thyroid function was pretty lousy. At 6 months it had DOUBLED! I was told that everything was normal. I have been beating myself up over stalls and slow weight loss, when in reality I had nothing to do with it! My metabolism tanked and noone even bothered to call me. Both my surgeon and PCP had the results and they each dropped the ball. I missed out on 3 months of quick and easy weight loss because of their neglect! I am soooo mad! I am now on the correct medication and I hope it gets me back to my former rate of loss :( I have lost faith in my doctors, and being an RN makes it even worse. I no longer trust them!

 Stall is broken finally! I have dropped two pounds in the past two days. What a relief!

 Busy busy busy times! I haven't posted in a while because of it. We moved this past weekend and I am back in my old stomping grounds. The new job is great and I am happy about that. I am just wiped out! I really need to get a little more rest. I am over my stall and losing well. This is grand and I have no complaints. I feel great! Next stop is onederland.... soon I hope : I would love it to make it there by my six month surgiversary!
