I am starting this a little late in the game.  I am 2 weeks postop and just now getting to starting my blog.  I am 39 years old and have been married to my "grade school sweetheart" for almost 19 years.  We have 4 wonderful children, Jimmy 22, Meghann 17, Matthew 15 and Jack 4.  I had thought about WLS for a couple years before I actually decided it was what I wanted.  The final straw for me was when I was started on Insulin in April 2008.  I decided it was time to get serious abut getting healthy.  I have been on 11 medications since April.  It was just too much.  I made an appointment to see Dr. Rosen in May 2008.  I completed my 6 mos doctor supervised diet at the end of October and was approved within a few days!  I had my surgery on Dec 2nd 2008.  I am glad now that I had my surgery, but even with all the research I did, I wasn't quite prepared for just how difficult that first week would be.  I am feeling better and better each day.  I am due to go back to work on Dec 22nd.  I am excited to get back into my regular routine.
