I went on my first informational session on August 8, 2006. I called the following day for an appt. and was able to get one for the following day August 10, 2006 which is today. I'm very excited about my first appt. I'm looking forward to it. Last night August 10, 2006 I went to see Dr. Goyal I was very excited and couldn't wait to begin my journey. Well, I got all my prescriptions to see the Gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, blood work, EKG, and chest X-ray. When I got up this morning I started making all my appts. My last appt. is on Sept. 7th, one week before I have to return to Dr. Goyal's office. I also have to schedule two appts. within this time with his dietitian and psychologist, which costs $250.00 and my insurance doesn't cover it, but hopefully it will be well worth it. I will keep you all posted. Wish me luck. August 23, 2006- Last night I went to an informational session for two of my friends with Dr. Iannacce in Ramsey to support them. They are so excited and I am excited for them. Tomorrow I go to the pulmonologist for my PFT. August 15, 2006- I got my EKG & chest X-ray on Friday, I had to return on Saturday for my bloodwork. I went to see my PCP last night and was amazed that she is supporting my decision on WLS. She was very skeptical about giving me prescription drugs for weight loss so I was very surprised when she supported my decision. Well I feel great as I continue my long and just beginning journey. I'm really excited and can't wait to get a date. August 16,2006 Lucy from Dr. Goyals office called and said my chest X-Ray came back with a sot, I need to do a PPD test. Ran to my PCP and had it done. August 18,2006 My test came back negative, one less thing to worry about. Next week I see the pulmonologist and try to schedule the dietician and psychologist. After that one more doctor to see, the gastroenterologist. I'm closer to my goal. I can't wait till this is all behind me. Two of my girlfriends are attending an info meeting with Dr. Iannacce next week, I'm thrilled for them, they'll be doing what I'm doing soon. August 24, 2006- Today I went to the pulmonologist and I passed however they were surprised I was not sent for a sleep study. So I hope when I go back to Dr. Goyal they don't tell me I have to return for the sleep study. My next step the gastroenterologist in two weeks. September 7, 2006 I just saw the gastroenterologist. I have to get an endoscopy done. My appt is for 10/8/2006, so I have a month to go. Next week I will see Dr. Goyal and hopefully get a date.
