Dear Alice, Thanks so much for your kind words.... your profile was soooooo inspiring! You & your daughter look fabulous!! I'm so happy that you had such a pleasant experience with your surgery. After reading every single wsl memorial, i was really begining to double think this whole thing. It seemed so many people had horrible complications, that lead to their deaths... it really scared me a lot. I've read that blood clots are the biggest killer, so i'm having a filter put in, plus i'm going to go on blood thinner for about 1 year. Leaks are the other biggie.... my surgeon said he uses a special human cell 'epoxy' to seal off the pouch. I'm having an open surgery, so i can have this "micro" pouch, which is not suppose to stretch out any.... the surgeon has done over 4000 of these, & highly recommends it. Reading your profile got me confident & excited about the process again!! I don't have a surgery date yet.... but it should be within the next 2 or 3 weeks. I'm suppose to hear from my patient care person this week about the filter surgery, & the wls surgery would be in the following week. My mom is also having wls, but her's will be different than mine.... she's having a LGBP, which is more common. Thanks so much for dropping me a note!! Mike :)
