Hi!!! I am so glad to meet someone in my same situation. Let me first state, I work for Aetna, and this place is horrible! So for them to do something like this isnt far from the norm. Anyway, it took me 2 days of dealing with Member Services to find the surgeon. Dr David Sooriash, 399-5757. Nina, is very nice but I can only ask her so much...I have an appt scheduled for August 14th so my suggestion - set one A.S.A.P. In the meantime, I am trying to fight Aetna on this because I too had approval for consultation. I wish you the best and keep me posted.deb44m 22 years ago

3-29-02 All I seem to think about these days is having the surgery. I want this so much! I am so tired of lugging around all this extra baggage! Since I made the decision to do this I have been dieting. I know I will be requied to lose "X" pounds before I can have the surgery, so I figure why not start working on it now. Now this does not mean that I totally deprive myself from eating some things I love, because if I really want it, I have it. I have stopped eating sweets, and cut way back on alot of carbs. I love carbs! That is one of the hardest things for me. I joined a local gym here and am very happy with my decision to do so. I have not been in the last two weeks tho as I overdid and my left knee really gave me fits for over a week. I have Osteoarthritis and have had Physical Therapy to strengthen the knee muscles. I knew better than to have the weight as much as I did (the trainer helped me and DID ask if it was too much) I said no, as it did not feel bad. My muscles were never sore to the point that I couldn't move or walk. BUT...I KNOW BETTER! For me, it has LESS WEIGHT, MORE REPS! Lesson well learned. I am going to go to the gym tomorrow after I get thru working OT (its inventory time) I have also lost 10 lbs! WOO-HOO! :) It is time for me to finally take control over my life. I have spent HOURS reading, learning, searching this web site for more info. If any of you have ever seen the movie "Short Circuit" well...I feel like Johnny Five...INPUT, NEED INPUT! *S* The more you know, the better off you are. Well, I will post more after the meeting on Tuesday. I can hardly wait!!!Sheila I. 22 years, 1 month ago
3-28-02 I am really excited, as this coming Tuesay I get to go to the group meeting at the hospital that Dr. Yasrebi requires everyone to attend before they can call for an appointment. Also I get to meet "my new angel" Christina. She has helped me so much with information. I will let evetyone know when I get an appointment! Wish me luck, and I can use all the extra prayers I can get. :)Sheila I. 22 years, 2 months ago
3-22-02 WOO-HOO! I got approved by Aetna today. I am so happy. Now the real process begins. I am hoping to have Dr. Yasrebi do my surgery. If I can get in to see him that is. He is so booked up. I am going to attend his group meeting on April 2nd. I have also made friends with one of his patients, she is a real sweet lady that I have met through this wonderful website!About Me
