"My surgeon is Dr. Kuldeep Singh of the St Agnes Bariatric Surgery Center. Dr. Singh is well known as a laparoscopic surgeon and has recently begun performing the weight loss surgery. When I told my PCP that I was looking for surgeons she was adament that I find one that had extensive experience with the surgery. After I told her I was seeing Dr Singh, she told me that he has a very good reputation as a surgeon, but she hadn't known he was performing weight loss surgery. Nevertheless, she approves of my choice.
Dr Singh is a man in his thirties with a quiet and unassuming demeanor. And a very good sense of humor. He put me at ease immediately with his smile. He listened and answered my questions candidly. And he seems to truly care.
His nurse/progam coordinator is Cathy, she is very responsive. She is 2 years post op and very helpful. He does emphasize aftercare. There is a nutritionist in the office who saw me the same day of my first appointment. And there is a support group that meets at St Agnes on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Dr Singh was at the meeting I attended and was very open to talking with everyone. Because he is new with the weight loss surgeries he is able to know his patients and follow them closely. I have not yet had the surgery to speak to his competence, but again my PCP informed me of his excellent reputation as a surgeon and I found him to be warm, caring and funny. And very honest. I will provide more info when I have it.
4/6/2002 I had my surgery on 2/18/02 and Dr Singh was great!!! He is very comforting and caring. He is also very competent.He is genuinely interested in how you are. Dr Singh visited me at least once every day that I was in the hospital, sometimes 2 times. . Dr Singh also called the nurses at night to be certain I was ok. He was made aware of my condition on a regular basis, he was responsive to my needs. He communicated with me ( he called me one night) and he stayed in touch with the nurses. His nurse, Cathy Younger,who is 2 years post-op also visited and called me. She has a big influence in the care Dr Singh's patients receive in the hospital. Mainly because she was in our shoes and understands what it is like to have the surgery. She cares that the patients get the best possible care.I was very impressed with his care and I continue to be in good hands with him and his staff. I will recommend Dr Singh to everyone. I attend the support group at St Agnes on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. He is usually there. I look forward to my lifetime partnership with Dr. Singh in my journey!!!"
"Everyone in the hospital was very nice and very helpful. The staff was very attentive and concerned. Everyone spoke very highly of Dr Singh and he and his nurse, Cathy were very attentive to me during my stay. The only drawback was the food. You have to be careful about the trays they bring, making sure they are sugar free. And the pureed meals are gross.But hospital food is rarely good."
