Hi, I'm Michelle, a 37 year old single mother of two. I have fought obesity most of my life and have been having many complicated medical problems due to the obesity for the last three years.
I have diabetes uncontrolled even though I'm on over 350 units of insulin a day along with an oral medication. I have a fatty liver with growths that are bleeding. I have fought pancreatitis due to extremely high triglycerides. Of course, all this causes severe depression and anxiety. It seems like I'm on a roller coaster ride with all the medical issues that I deal with. Some weeks I have multiple appointments every single day.
I have decided after much research and having a couple of friends who had gastric bypass that this may be the answer for me. I have tried every diet under the sun and even a structured workout plan without much success or great success only to gain it back plus more.
Right now I am 258 pounds at 5' 7" and am looking to go down to about 140 pounds. I have attended the gastric bypass orientation and have my surgical consultation on May 16, 2007. I am so excited but, nervous about this new journey in my life.
Please feel free to say hi anytime. Thanks for reading my story.
