Moire
Well, let's see. I Had RNY July 1st 2007 thanks to the doctor recognizing my struggles for the past 10 years with weight. I also have hypothyroidism since 2002 and had a complete hysterectomy in 2005. My body has malfunctioned alot but the body shop doesn't stock spare parts for my model.
Growing up - poor self image was constant and now approaching 31 its somewhat still an issue. Overeating wasn't really a problem. I was always exhausted and huge after the birth of my son in 1997 but it wasn't until 2002 and a trip to the ER that it was caught and diagnosed. I was told that I had hypothyroidism and had I gone 1 more week without coming in I would have been in a coma. Talk about a wakeup call!
Was my highest weight -278 preop and as of today Jan 13th 2008 am 198 lbs. Still struggling to keep energy and keep food down- being vegetarian it is hard to get all the protein they want me to eat. Then the medication.....lets just say I will have donated more blood for workups than I would volunteer before they get it right. Hair falling out- freezing hands and feet- I'll be a thin bald lightweight prize fighter with Alaskan boots on my hands and feet by the end of this!
