"As I was the first wls patient in this hospital - they had and still have a lot to learn. But I feel that they treated me real well - took great care of me!! And now with more wls patients coming in - they are getting better all the time!"
"Met with Dr. Hogg on 12-15-00. He is just beginning to do weight loss surgery - and is getting his team in place. He is ready right now but wants his team and all in place prior to beginning. I was very impressed with his knowledge and want to do this surgery to help those of us that need it! He put me right at ease - was very likeable - told us to ask any questions! He has scheduled us for another appointment in January and by then all will be ready to proceed! I am so thankful that finally a surgeon will be here in my hometown so I do not have to travel hours away for this surgery! It will be so much easier on my family for me to have this done at home. His office staff was great - his nurse was very nice. He is in an office with a lot of other surgeons - so there is a lot of backup if needed! He explained that he wants a lot of pre-op meetings with the psych and dietician - and a lot of followup. I felt so comfortable with him and his staff.
Unfortunately Dr. Hogg is no longer practicing in Morehead City. I do understand that Dr. Bell - who is a surgeon and in the same practice that Dr. Hoggg was in - is taking patients for this surgery. I really am sad that Dr. Hogg is no longer here. He only did this surgery on me and then left. It has been very very hard on me with his leaving. I really trusted that he would be there for me for post-op appointments. "
