The beginning of my WL journey

I met with my new PCP on Monday and I was a bit nervous bc I know I wanted to mention weight loss surgery. We are in her office and going over my new patient paper work. She asks about my Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and ask if there was anythign other illnesses or problems. I tell her no but I'd like to talk to her about something once she's done with the paperwork. She gives me this "go ahead" look so I said "I've been struggling with my weight since age 11" and she said "Well looking at your history we can do something about that".. so I'm praying we are on the same page... and we were she said "Well what about Bariatric surgery".. I swear my heart was like becaue I was so happy she understood.. I told her I wanted to have lap band instead of RNY and she said I was a perfect canidate for either surgery but she was good with the lap band as well. She recommened Dr. Theodore Smalls with Mease Morton Plant Hospital. I will attend a FREE seminar on 9/10 and I'm so excited. I have filled out my paperwork and will be faxing it over today. I will keep my OH family abreast of what's going on with this process.. I ask for your prayers and patience with me as I take this journey. I'm so ready to be on the losers bench..
