My name is Lisa Mote. I have a wonderful husband, Donnie and two boys Ernie,18 and Eddie, 11. Donnie is a soldier with the US Army and my son Ernie has joined the Army. He leaves for basic training in August. I am very proud of the decisions Ernie has made. As a teenager he is very responsible. Eddie plays football and does extremely well in school. And then theres me...I am 40 and have puts others first for years. I love putting my family first but it doesn't leave alot of time for me. I am finally doing for me. I had my WLS on 2/15/10. And it has changed my life. I have lost weight, gained energy and confidence. And am finally getting my closet cleaned out! As an item of clothing gets too big I pass it along to others. I have only about 4 more items of too small clothes in my closet. I have been hoarding them for years in the hopes of finally wearing them again. While it feels great for them to be too big there are some like my favorite pair of pants that I just can't let go of. Why? IDK. But I just love those pants. When I finally fit back into them it had been 8 yrs. since I had worn them. It was a victory! I guess keeping the one pair just to remember that victory won't be bad.
I used to be a very active person when I was younger. I danced competitively for 12 yrs. And can't believe I got up to 326lbs. And thats just the highest recorded weight. I remember when I weighed in that day thinking OMG but I know I've felt heavier!
The biggest size clothing I ever wore was a size 28/30. I can now wear a size 20 depending on wear I shop. There is such a difference in the sizing of clothes from store to store it drives me crazy.
I had a friend who lost alot of weight from hard work and lots of self control, something I never possessed. I remember shopping with her for clothes one day. We went to Lane Bryant and all the clothes were to big for her. There smallest size was too big. She was so happy that she cried right there in the store. I want that kind of wow moment. I will have that kind of wow moment of my own! I can't wait!
