Hummmm. My story. Well, I really don’t know where to begin. I’m presently plump, weighing in at 336. I’ve been heavy all my life and quite frankly, I am tired of it. I was born a big baby at 9lbs and 3ozs. My heaviest weight in High School was 318 and in college, 300. I’ve flip flopped between 290 and 310 for the past three years. After taking the “pill” for two years, I found myself at 347.   I’ve done everything from Slim Fast, Medifast, Dexatrim, Weight Watchers, ephedrine and pure exercise and a strict diet. If I saw results, they didn’t stick around. I’d there gain it all back or even double.    Three years ago, my mother went for the bypass. I was totally against it out of fear of fatality, but out of love for her, I supported her decision and stuck by her side throughout the process. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with hypertension and placed on a water/pressure pill. Then is when I started to consider weight loss surgery. Originally, I considered the bypass but was afraid of the procedure, so I started the process for the Lapband. I was placed on a liquid diet to drop 20 lbs and lost 11, bringing me down to 336.   Just last year November, I started to do more research on both surgeries and found that the bypass was more of a beneficial surgery for me, considering my weight and medical history. Let me also add that I was not too interested in having a device in me for the rest of my life.   So, here I am. All prepared and ready to go! I’ve satisfied what’s needed to complete the pre-certification process, being the psych and nurti visit. On Monday, September 8th, I’ll meet with my surgeon and be administered a surgery date. I am so excited I don’t know what to do.   Bit by bit, I’ve been buying little things that I’ll need during my first month post-op, such as sugar free pudding and applesauce. I ordered my protein powder this morning. I’ll tell you, this is really exciting. Now, how I’ll be the day before surgery is soon to be determined! Ha!   ~Motivated~
