6 Months Post Op !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan 22, 2008

It has been a wild and crazy ride thus far. I am six months post op as of today and feel great! I have lost an incredible 141 lbs. and 34 lbs from goal!

Life is so much easier as a smaller person, simple things that were once a chore are now a breeze. Not to mention that I can actually run a mile and working on my endurance.

I have had no complications, praise God and no regrets.

A big thank you to all my family, friends and OH family for all your support and encouragement

Another year flies by!

Nov 26, 2007

Well my friends, the holidays are upon us. My WLS was in late July and time sure has a way of flying by. It seems like only yesterday I was almost 400 lbs. My journey thus far has been more than I could have ever imagined.

Im happy to say that I have lost around 108 lbs. putting me at the 285 lbs.
I honestly can not remember the last time I weighed in at this weight, and can say that I weigh less now than I did in High School. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep dropping pants sizes and thank God for WalMart and their sales on pants.  I have went from a size 56 to a 44 so far and from 5x & 4x shirts to a comfortable 2x. I have so much more energy and enjoying life.

God is good all the time!

One week post op and the losing of weight begins

Jul 31, 2007

Well I had my one week follow up today. Doc reported that everything looks good and he graduated me from liquids to mushy foods .

Well needles to say on my way home I stoped at Taco Bell and purchased a side of beans MMMMMMMMMMMM GOOD! I Swear these have to be the best beans I have ever eaten. Listen after a week and a half of liquids anything that has some sort of  consistency is awsome.
I forgot to mention I also dropped 25 lbs my first week.

Well so far so good will see how cottage cheese does tonight.!

Day of Surgery and my Stay in the hospital

7/23/07
My day to have RNY proximal laproscopic gastric bypass.
My surgery  was moved up to 9:30 am so. I had to be there by 7:00 am.
I was in surgery for 2 hours. Doc came out and told my family everything went fine, that is was a text book procedure.

I remember waking up in recovery, not much pain. After that I was moved to Med Surge , this is where the fun began. First day was not to bad, did not sleep real well, my room was so warm and could not get use to the little things on your feet that help to prevent blood clots. Every time I would start to fall asleep this thing would squeeze my foot and wake me up. HOW RUDE!

7/24/07
My second day was not much fun, I was am emotional wreck. I think it was a combination of the hot room, lack of sleep, and the ohhhhhhhh so comfortable hospital bed. Second day I was already questioning If I had made the right choice!!

7/25/07 Well I am home now, Thank God!!! I feel so much more comfortable physically and emotionally. I'm sticking to my liquids only and mastering the WLS Cha! Cha!  Sip, Sip, walk , walk , sip, walk , Sip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
