Hmm.. Where to start?? I am 27, and I have been married to my Hubby for 6 years, together for 10. We live in the smallest most boring town in PA... But its nice and quiet which is definately a plus for me. We have 3 dogs, Taco, Toby and Truman. I work as a Phlebotomist, so I poke people with needles all day 
. I have been overweight since I was 17. Honestly it came out of no where.... Up till then I was a very slim and healthy 120 lbs. Here I am, 10 years later, finally doing something about it. I am ready!!! I had originally decided on getting the Lap Band.... The bypass scares me quite a bit... Just with the re routing of your intestines, the malabsorption and vitamin deficincies... I went through the whole program at my hospital (Geisinger Medical Center) with my mind set on the Band. When I got to my surgeon (Dr Gabrielsen) we have a very long 2 hour talk about the Band... I realized that I really didnt want the band afterall, but I was still pretty leary about the Bypass. Thats when he told me about the Sleeve Gastrectomy.. I dont think I have even been so excited!!! 
It hadnt been offered to me before because my insurance hadnt started covering for the Sleeve till a month before my Surgeon appt. After getting all the details, I decided that this is most certainly the surgery I want to get! The countdown is on, and my surgery is set for May 18th! I am super excited!!
