I have always struggled with my weight. But, when I had my first child almost 9 years ago, my weight reached a record high of about 275. My weight dropped down to about 250-260 for a few years. But, after having my second child 3 1/2 years ago, my weight shot back up to around 270 and has remained their steadily. I've always been too scared of the possible complications to have gastric bypass surgery. So, now that my insurance has started covering the lap band, I have decided to have this surgery. I'm hoping it will improve my quality of life so that I am no longer too tired to participate in physical activities with my family. And, most importantly, I want to be a role model for my daughters. Obesity runs in my family and I want to set an example on how to live a healthy lifestyle so that they don't end up heading down the road that I've been on for many years.
