My story is probably the same as anyone else's visiting this site. I have been married for 10 years. We have 3 wonderful, smart, and adorable kids. I have been overweight since I was pregnant with my oldest daughter and no matter what I eat now, I don't lose weight. I want to be able to keep up with my kids now, and later on but at 283 pounds it is hard to even walk down our road. I want to be able to run and ride bikes with my kids. I want to be able to go to the zoo without getting so tired because I am carrying so much weight around.
I researched gastric bypass surgery in 2002 when I became a member on here, but my husband was scared of the risks it involved. Now we know the risks of being overweight and the health problems that go along with that. I am so excited to be starting this process for real this time! Of course it isn't going as fast as I wanted it to, but that's just the way I think.
I love this site. I am hoping to find some people in my area that is having the surgery done at DePaul to so we can be "surgery buddies".
