I decided to update my profile. I had my surgery 11 months ago (12-12-2005) and boy has time passed quickly. This has truly been a wonderful journey for me. I remember how scared I was at first to have this surgery but I feel I put my life in the hands of a very good surgeon and I definately feel that my sucess to date has had to do with the level of support I received from my doctor's office, support groups and friends that I have made through these support groups.

I started my journey at 308 lbs. Today (11 months later) I weigh 150 lbs. Wow!!! I can't believe that! who would have known? I use to wear a size 30-32 pants and now I wear a size 8!!!  My health has greatly improved as well. I no longer suffer from sleep apnea and I don't take any medications for my asthma. 

People I have not seen in a while do not recognize me and I have gained such a feeling of well being and assertiveness. I am now the person I always wanted to be. I have finally gained control of myself, control of my life and my  bad habits which led me to obesity.

This is a life long journey for me. I count everyday as a blessing for the gift I have been given of being able to finally live a healthy and happy life with my family.
