Went for my 3month check up on April 7th (monday) and I had a surprise when I weighed in. See, I've been weighing myself every Monday at work and in the am, I had weighed in at 199lbs. When I went to see Dr. Kane that same evening, their scale said that I weighed 196lbs.  I like their scale better!! I'm doing well, I'm really trying to get exercise in my daily routine of things. I got the go ahead to start working on my abs..thank goodness. I've been walking everyday at work at lunch time and really trying to go on the weekends. It's hard because I just filed for divorce and my husband isn't living at home anymore, so I don't have someone to watch my kids. My 13yr old is more than happy to go to a friends house, but my little one doesn't have a lot of kids her age around the area. I'm working things out, here and there. I find that it's harder at home to not think of food than when I'm at work. At work, I really keep up with my water intake and my protein, at home, I slack and SNACK and I really don't want to do that.  I only eat when I am hungry.  Well, EAster is tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great day and a blessed one. Take care until next time....Mary

6weeks- follow up visit

Feb 02, 2007

Well, went to see Dr. Kane for my 6 week checkup. Everything is going well he says. I've lost 27 pounds!! I'm down to 212#. Only 12 more pounds until I hit my first goal!! I go back to work starting monday 2/5, I'm a little nervous, I'm just more nervous about being exhausted by the end of the shift. But I will cross that bridge on Monday right? That's all for right now. Until next time. Take care all of you

5weeks-5days

Jan 27, 2007

Well, it's been 5 weeks 5days since my surgery. When I weighed myself yesterday I was down to 214!! Yeah!! The last time I weighed that was before I started nursing school 3-4 years ago!!! I'm feeling a little better while working out- I'm just riding the bike for about 10minutes and walking the treadmill for about 20-30minutes- I'm still occasionally having to take the pain med at night before bed because by the end of the day, I have some aches and pains. But I feel that's the healing process and will take some time.
Well until next time,
Mary

Tuesday will be 5 weeks

Well, it's been 4 weeks  6 days since my surgery. All is going well, still learning on how to read my body and it's signs. Signs of when it's hungry etc. Sometimes I'll go until 2 in the afternoon and realize that I haven't eaten!! And I know that that is not good. I'm being careful of my sugars, really looking at labels and how many proteins there are and calories. My kids have been great. They too are getting used to the low sugar foods. It's a whole learning process for the family. I'm a little nervous about going back to work. I have to go back full time and I know if I just do grocery shopping, I'm exhausted!! Well, I'll take it in stride and we'll see how things go. Until next time, Mary
P.S I'm down 21.5 pounds!!!! yeah
