My plastic surgeon

Apr 02, 2010

My plastic surgeon is Dr. Christopher Jones.  His office website is www.mysurgerygroup.com.  He did an awesome job on my arms and breasts.  My next mission is a lower body lift and Dr. Jones is the surgeon I want.  If you are looking for a great surgeon, visit the website or give the office a call.  The office staff is great.

Dr. Jones also gives a 10% discount to all bariatric patients.  His wife is a bariatric surgeon and he really likes working with us.  Good Luck in all your decisions and make sure you check out any surgeon you are thinking of having do your surgery.

1st plastic surgery - done

Dec 17, 2009

I had my first plastic surgery done on December 4, 2009.  I had a brachioplasty (upper arm skin removed) and a mastopexy (breast lift) with implants.  I really wanted to have this done and can't wait for summer when I can wear tank tops and show off my new arms.  The surgery was more painful than I thought, put soooo worth it.  I am only 13 days post op and I am already amazed at the transformation.

My insurance didn't pay for any of the surgery.  I financed the surgery and after 1- 1 1/2 years I should have it paid off.  Then I am going to have a lower body lift done.  At that point, I think I will be done with all of it.  I am not looking for perfection, I just want to look NORMAL!

I need to get some pictures taken and post them.  I am still about 4 pounds away from my goal, but I am happy where I am right now.  I just want to have a little more play room with my weight and still stay in the "healthy" BMI range.

I will keep you posted . . . .

My next goal

Jul 09, 2009

I have 10 more pounds I want to lose until I hit my goal (144).  At least I think that is the goal I want.  I haven't weighed 144 since probably 2nd grade, so I don't know if this will be a good weight for me or if I will want to lose more.  Time will tell.

I figure I will need to bump up the exercise to achieve my goal.  I rode my bike on a 20 mile bike ride a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed it.  The next big ride is the Hilly Hundred in October.  It is a 2 day - 50 miles each day - in a hilly aread.  My goal for this year is to complete both days.  I know at this point I may be walking up alot of the hills, but that can be a new goal next year.  This year I just want to complete both days.

Never say Never

Jun 21, 2009

A year ago I said that I would NEVER have plastic surgery.  I would be happy just being thin and no one would see me without clothes on (besides my husband who saw me at 299) and I would never wear a bikini, so no plastic surgery for me.  Well, then I changed my mind and  just wanted my arms done (brachioplasty).  I want to be able to wear tank tops and I wouldn't be caught dead in one without having surgery and having my "bat wings" removed.  They are gross!

Well, now I am within 13 pounds of goal and I have changed my mind again.  I want a TOTAL BODY LIFT!  I still want my arms done, but I also want my boobs done, a tummy tuck, and my thighs lifted.  I don't have a clue how I am going to pay for it.  I have done some research and know this could cost between $30,000 and $50,000.  I figure this is a nice, luxury car in equivalant.  My thinking right now:  in 2 years my boys will have their undergrad degrees and I will then be done supporting them financially.  I hopefully then can just make a "car payment"  and have the surgery done.

The Evil Scales

Jan 31, 2009

You can say that I am obsessed with the scales, weighing at least 6 times a day.  Immediately after post op, it was great.  I would lose weight pretty much every day.  In this past month, I have only lost 2-3 pounds and it was killing me to weigh and not  lose any weight.

I read a challenge here the other day from the message board to not weigh for the month of February.  I am going to try it.  I have asked my son to hide the scales here at home.  It will be tougher at work.  I work at a doctor's office, and we have scales around every corner!  I have to try and be strong.

I think I am done with my latest plateau, so it will be exciting to weigh at the end of February to see how much I have lost for the month.  I can't wait!

2/13/09  Forget it.  I have quit all my other addictive behaviors, but I just can't quit this one.  I stayed off the scales for 3 days, and I am back to weighing 5-6 times per day.  But, my latest plateau is over and I am losing again.  So the scales aren't so EVIL right now.
