Hello, I'm a 44 year old mother of one. I've had a weight problem since I was around 8 years old. I can honestly say that I don't remember ever being in the hundred's. I have tried diet after diet. I have lost and regained weight a hundered times but I can't seam to keep it off. I just want to be normal! My highest weight ever was 383lbs back back in 1998. I had the Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG) which is stomach stapling March 18, 1998. Before surgery I lost down to 352 lbs. Shortly after surgery I got pregnant with my son and had him in 1999. I truly believe getting pregnant so soon after surgery plus not having a bariatric surgeon or having a nutritionist are the reasons I gained my weight back

As for my family, my son is 11 years old now and he's the of my life. I have been married for 21 years to a wonderful man . I've had the best parents that anyone could every ask for. I lost my dad when I was 12 years old and I just lost my mom May 2010. She and I were very close, we were best friends. I have one sister no brothers. My sister and I are very close. I'm so blessed to have such great support people in my life . My husband who loves me no matter how much I weigh and he's very supportive with my decision to have the revision surgery.

I started my new journey the end of October 2010 and I weighed 353. I had gained back every pound that I had lost before surgery plus gained a pound on top of that . I have found a wonderful surgeon in Concord NC that is working with me to have the revision surgery to the Roux-en-Y. When I meet with my surgeon I weighed at his office 347.3 so I have lost 5.7 lbs since I've started my new journey. I'm in  the process of trying to lose weight before I have surgery. I hoping to get down to 300 lbs before then.

I have been wanting to create this site since October when I first found it but I wanted to wait until I  had my upper GI to see if Dr. Bauman would be able to accept me as his patient. I'm happy to report that I had my upper GI on January 5th and I meet with Dr. Bauman on January 6th and I got my good news! He has approved me to be his patient.  He said that he didn't see a problem doing my revision.

I have just about all of my pre cert done except one of the most important parts to this process to me which is to meet with my nutritionist; I have an appointment with them Thursday.  Thankfully my nutritionist is in the office next door to my surgeon which is very convenient. and make a lot of since for them to be so close

I have been praying a lot about my decision for having this surgery and  I've also done a ton of research on the Roux-en-Y. I want to make sure that I don't make the same mistates that I did the last time. I hope and pray that everything goes well with my revision . I want to live! I want to be here for my family.

If Lord's willing I should have my surgery date for sometime in February. Hopefully the Insurance company won't hold me up to long.

I wish all of you out there the very best!

God Bless and thanks for reading my story!
