About me
I married at age 16 and had two children quickly. I was always chubby with most of my weight carried around the middle. After having the kids so young my body never seemed the same. My weight went up and down constantly. I stayed home to raise the kids, and when they were 13 and sixteen I went to college. While there I fell in love with Real-Estate. The failure rate in that business is tremendous, but I've had a wonderful career and plan to stay in the business until I can no longer show property. Recently, a client told me he was staying in the house we just closed on until he was old. He did assure me he would get my out of the nursing home to sell it when he was ready :)
This seems like a very ordinary life, but many extraordinary things happened in the middle of my story. At one point my husband left home and we were separated for a few months. It was extremely painful. I lost a huge amount of weight in one month. I call it the "divorce diet" and boy, does it work! I am happy to say we worked it out and have been married 33 years last October. Unfortunately the opposite of the divorce diet is the "happy and fat wife" But happy is hard to define. I have never been comfortable with my weight, but my health issues have trumped any vanity I had. My GP told me this surgery is my only chance to live. It scared the heck out of me. I just turned 50...how could things be this bad? I've got to take charge and make life changes!
My Family
My son is 33 and is a Leiutenant in the police force. My daughter in an English teacher. I was so important to me that they get college degrees. Thankfully that was their desire also :) I have five beautiful grandkids.
My only sister who is more like a mother to me is on kidney dialysis three days a week. We are praying hard for a donor.
Her husband is having a lung biopsy on February 28th. He has been my true brother almost my entire life. He married my sister when I was 6 years old. I love them both with all my heart.
I lost my dad almost eight years ago and miss him every day. He would be so disappointed in me now! I am a mess :(
My mom is 84 and healthy as a horse but not so with-it mentally. She can be a trial but is able to live alone and DRIVE!
